Review by doctor kelly

Mojo's latest album, Should I Cry, is a soulful and emotional journey that showcases the artist's exceptional songwriting skills and powerful vocals. The album is a perfect blend of blues, jazz, and R&B, with each track telling a unique story of love, loss, and self-discovery.

From the opening track, "Broken Hearted Blues," Mojo sets the tone for the album with her raw and gritty vocals, accompanied by a hauntingly beautiful guitar melody. The album's title track, "Should I Cry," is a standout ballad that showcases Mojo's vulnerability and range as a vocalist.

Other notable tracks include "Love Me or Leave Me," a bluesy and upbeat number that will have listeners tapping their feet and "Wish I Knew," a soulful and introspective ballad that highlights Mojo's songwriting prowess.

I have always loved this amazing record - but why have I still not heard it in the rich, wide and deep thrilling stereo it deserves? Was it ever mixed for that kind of stereo? If so, did it ever come out? I've been looking and can't find it. But boy, is Jan Errico wailing on that backbeat (assuming it's her playing). -- Sidebar: one would have to follow the group to appreciate the distance covered between "Dance with Me" and this magnificent track. Thank you for the super clean dub.

A great sound. I'll have to find out more about this group. But anybody would have thought this sounded like 1965-66, not 1968, as by then, this Deep Wall Of Sound which may previously have seemed very futuristic was a bit out of fashion as far as the record buyers were concerned, as this had already been ousted by the onslaught of Psychedelia, which out-fashioned so many of these great mid sixties sounds. Futhermore, this was the same studio where The Doors had already recorded their first two albums, and they were one of the bands responsible for changing the music world at this time. This was the last major shift of the sixties before the music world quietened down during the early seventies.
