About Milli Vanilli

Pop vocal group, formed in Germany in 1988. The 'face' of the band was composed of models and , who producer had chosen because he felt the real singers ( and ) were unmarketable. and comprised the female vocals of the group. The duo only appeared on the album cover, and lip-synched to pre-recorded professional singers in music videos and in concert. In 1990, they were awarded the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, but later became the only act in history to have their Grammy stripped from them when it was revealed that they had not been involved in the creation of their breakthrough album, "Girl You Know It's True". In 1993, Pilatus and Morvan released a new (unsuccessful) album as , in an attempt to prove to the world that they did indeed possess vocal and writing talent. On his side, went on to produce . In 1998, was found dead in a hotel near Frankfurt.

Fun fact: Rob and Fab boycotted the video shoot for this song to try and force Frank Farian's hand into letting them sing on the next album. So instead they just used a bunch of footage from prior music videos to make it.
